Larry Bonacquisti was the consummate educator. When I first came to teach at Genesee Community College, Larry took me under his wing and became a mentor and friend. He was beyond generous, going so far as to get Bills tickets for his Cheese Head friends whenever the Packers were in town. Great memories. Over the years, long after his leaving GCC, he continued to return, often with a group of his Geneseo Student Teachers, to share his wealth of knowledge and experience with the next generation of teaching professionals. His lasting advice for us was, "Students don't care how much you know until they know how much you care!" I repeat those words every semester and credit the source. In every aspect of his life, one thing is for certain, Larry cared, and it showed. His was a life well lived and he will be missed. Our sincere sympathy to his family. Christine and Douglas Belongia

Coach B. wrote this in my yearbook: Marty, this has been one of the most satisfying teams that I have ever coached.
I've enjoyed your friendship and effort on the field. I hope that I have taught you more than just football - don't ever forget
to transfer your learning from football to life. Set a goal - a high one - and pursue it - don't cheat - don't quit.
Quitters never win - winners never quit. I'll always consider you and all "my" players as close friends - ones that I could
trust my life with. Marty it has been a pleasure to know and work with you. I'll expect to see you this summer at my house -
the door is always open - Sincerely Mr. B.

To me this says a lot about the person that Coach was to many people. He was significant in his teaching and leadership.
Always admired his inspiration and passion for life. I am grateful for his friendship. Marty Hubbard - York - Class of 1970.

I have known Larry for at least 25 years. When I was a teacher in Attica Middle School Larry was a Supervisor from Geneseo for my student teachers. I have been at Geneseo for the last 12 years. Larry was a wonderful mentor to me either as I supervised student teachers or as a dependable visitor to my classes. Larry and I even did some seminars together for our student teachers. We also did some workshops for students at RIT. This time of year Larry usually traveled to Florida, then he would call me and rub it in that he was outside in shorts, and say it was 80 degrees. I wondered why he hadn't called. I will miss his friendship and our discussions about his Red Socks and my Yankees. Further, I will miss his guidance.
