Obituary for Tanner James Hodges

York: Tanner James Hodges was born August 12, 2006 and Passed away May 13, 2023 at 16 years old.

He was predeceased by both his Grandfathers, James David Hodges and Tony Bachoffer. Also Great Uncle Joe Bachoffer.

He is survived by his parents Jim and Marijo Hodges, his sisters Lily Hodges (Tommy
Mueller) and Leah Hodges (Josh Davis) and his pick of the litter, Newt Dobbs. Tanner is also survived by his Uncle Joe (Nadine) Hodges of Palm, PA, Aunt Jojuana (Dave Davis) Cliff of Avon NY, Aunt Annie (Chris) Rumfola of Avon NY, Aunt Lori (Patrick) Casey of Santa Monica CA, Aunt Sara (Doug) Kohn of Scottsville NY. Tanner is also survived by many loving cousins.

Tanner was a Junior at York High School. He was an excellent student and passionate athlete. His best and favorite sport was football where he played linebacker. Tanner also attended the building trades program at BOCES in Mt. Morris, NY where he was inducted into the National Honor Society of which he was also a member at YCS.

Tanner wanted to pursue his dream career of being a lineman after graduating from high school. Tanner was a hard worker and worked seasonally for JAZKAM enterprises of York NY and most recently Stein Farms in Caledonia NY. Tanner was also a very passionate outdoorsman with a special interest in deer and
turkey hunting. He was a junior member of the York Sportsman Club where he had many special friends. One of Tanner’s early passions was Taekwondo where he earned his black belt in 2019.

He would also lend a helping hand willingly to anyone in need. Tanner was an incredible young man and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank all the emergency service personnel that responded.

A service for Tanner will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at the First Baptist Church of Pavilion 10956 Lake St., Pavilion at 11 A.M. Immediately following the service, all are welcome to join the family for food, drinks and a Celebration of Life at the York Sportsmans Club at 2883 Craig Rd. Piffard, NY 14533. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to York Fire Department, P.O. Box 409, York, NY 14592.
