Obituary for Helen Mattice Fernaays (Hoag)
Mumford
December 5, 2022 at age 100. Predeceased by her parents, Jim and Mabel Hoag, husbands, Kenneth Mattice and Nelson Fernaays, daughter, Mary Ann O’Dell, and son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Barbara Mattice, son-in-law, Robert Claud.
She is survived by her children, Sally Claud, Don and Theresa Mattice, Gary and Anne Marie Mattice, son-in-law, Roy O'Dell, 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, sisters, Kathleen Milliman, Betty McClurg and Eleanor Landers, brother, James “Buster” (Norma) Hoag, many nieces, nephews and the Fernaays family.
Helen was a member or the Mumford United Presbyterian Church and the Mumford Fire Department Auxiliary. She was also active with the Wheatland Senior Citizens and the Chit Chat Club.
The family would like to thank the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home for the wonderful care Helen was given.
Friends may call Monday, December 12, 2022 from 4-7 PM at the Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 West Main St., Caledonia. Her Funeral Service will be held 10 AM on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at the Mumford United Presbyterian Church, 893 George St., Mumford, NY 14511. Interment Mumford Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Church.
