Obituary for Elizabeth E. "Ibbie" Callan (Ewell)

Passed away peacefully on Thursday October 13, 2022, at age 98, surrounded by her family. Born in Pearl Creek, Wyoming County on March 12, 1924. She is predeceased by her first husband Ned Haynes, son Brian Haynes, stepson Gary Haynes, second husband Lawrence Leonard Callan, brothers John and Clayton Ewell. She is survived by her step daughters’ Linda Haynes, Catherine Callan (Paul Plaganis), Julia Randall (Greg), step sons Peter Callan, Mark Callan (Veronica), loving sister Sally Estes (Robert) and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Ibbie was a graduate of SUNY Geneseo and taught 1st grade at Arkport School for 36 years. She had a deep faith and love for her church in Mumford. She enjoyed all types of card games, gambling and travel. She loved her extended family deeply.
The family would like to thank Molly Peet and her team of comforting aides, along with Livingston County Hospice Care for their support through this difficult time.
Friends are invited to join the family at her memorial service at 11:00 Saturday October 22, 2022, Mumford Presbyterian Church, 893 George St. Mumford NY 14511.
