Obituary for Raymond E. Minisce

Raymond E. Minisce, of Caledonia NY, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, September 19, 2022. He was the son of the late Leo and Frances Minisce. He is preceded in death by his brother, Leo Minisce, DVM, and nephew, Greg Minisci.

He was a loving husband to his wife of 60 years, Betty. A dedicated father to their 6 children: Raymond Minisce, James Minisce (Kim), Angela Rogers (CJ), Christine May, Matt Minisce (Lisa) and Steven Minisce (Bridget, aka Gretchen). A caring brother to his two sisters; Joan Minisce (Trish Herndon) and Jean Minisce. He was a much-loved uncle to many nieces and nephews.

In addition, he is survived by his 8 grandchildren: Mark Minisce, Tyler Minisce, Ethan Minisce, Michael Minisce, David Minisce, Jacob Rogers, Jenna Minisce and Scott Minisce, as well as 4 great grandchildren: Giavanna Minisce, Eliana Minisce, Joseph Minisce and Alessia Minisce.

He honorably served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Angler (SSK-240) and the USS Halfbeak (SS-352). He worked as a veterinary pharmaceutical salesman for J.A. Webster for 26 years.
He was an avid accordion player as well as a general aviation pilot, who was extremely fond of flying his Piper Cherokee (and going out to get those $100 hamburgers). He was also a great connoisseur of sesame chicken, Italian bread, pizza, red sauce and meatballs.

Per Ray’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to your local veteran’s organization or the Veterans Outreach Center, 447 South Avenue, Rochester, NY 14620. https://veteransoutreachcenter.org/.
