Obituary

Caledonia - On April 4th 2021 at the age of 58, Tim passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with an aggressive brain cancer surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Linda; beloved children Michael and Hannah; sisters Kathleen (Mark) Brown and Judy (Laurence DDS) Schweichler; aunt Mary Cullinan, mother-in-law and father-in-law Mary Ann and Norman Murphy; brothers-in-law David and Thomas (Bonnie) Murphy; nieces and nephews Christopher (Erica) and Patrick (Jenn) Brown, John (Reem) Schweichler, Jane (Dan) Leyva, and Patrick and Matthew Murphy; great niece Emma Schweichler and great nephew Cameron Brown; and many other close family and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Helen in 2011, and his father, Floyd in 2019.

Tim was a true gentle man. Tim was beyond selfless as shown through his actions and his words as he wanted what was best for anyone he encountered. Whether a child at a school sporting event, a co-worker in the office, a colleague in a business meeting, or a stranger on the street, all were treated with respect and the utmost kindness and all felt truly valued and appreciated. Faith played a large role in Tim’s life. Tim was a member of St. Martin De Porres Parish St. Columba Church and a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Tim was a Commercial Insurance Producer at Walsh Duffield Companies, Inc. Outside of work Tim had numerous titles, roles, and positions. Tim deeply cared about the Caledonia-Mumford community. Tim was a member of the Caledonia-Mumford Central School Board, the Caledonia Town Board, and the Caledonia Recreation Committee and was a statistician for both CMBB Football and CMCS Basketball. Tim was an umpire for many years for the Genesee Valley Umpires Association where he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2020.

No matter the situation or environment, Tim always had a funny story or a joke to tell. Tim lived his life to the fullest each and every day always putting a smile on everyone’s face he encountered. Tim will be truly missed but never forgotten; he will always be in our hearts and minds.

I was so sorry to read this sad news. I haven't seen Tim, you Judy and Kathleen, in many years, but remember all of you from the days your Dad was on the York Central School Board. A wonderful family. Tim certainly accomplished so much in his short life. It is my loss not to have known him better. Nice to read he also was a School Board member. I send my heartfelt thoughts and prayers to all of you, his family. I have fond memories.

Judy and Kathleen - I am so sorry to hear of your brother's passing. While I only remember him as the "little brother" when coming to visit at your house a couple times in grade school, I remember him as a good kid. He was raised by two wonderful parents and had two great sisters! What a great tribute as I read in his obituary of the many things he accomplished in life and the comments people have made about him. I am truly saddened to hear he passed so young from an aggressive brain cancer and understand the struggle for him and all the family during his illness as I lost my sister to the same five years ago. My thoughts and prayers are with Tim's family and you and your families as well for peace and comfort now and in the days ahead.

Tim was a wonderful friend from kindergarten to senior year. We were in so many classes together and swam together on the YCS swim team for four years. I have so many great memories of our years of friendship. I am very, very sorry for your loss.

I first met Tim in 1995 in our Leadership Rochester class. Such a great guy, terrific sense of humor. He was my “campaign manager” in trying to elect me class president of Leadership Rochester, needless to say I lost and never let him forget it! :)
I did not know he was ill and I am truly sorry to hear about his passing. My condolences to his family. Even though we didn’t connect as often as we should have, I was blessed to have him in my life, I will miss him terribly.

Tim was a colleague and friend who never forgot a birthday or your kids names and what they were up to. A very generous spirit and genuinely fun to be around. My condolences to the family during this difficult time.
