John A. Fox
Spencerport, NY – May 26, 2020, peacefully and surrounded by loving family.
John is predeceased by his parents, Merrill and Margaret Fox. John is also predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Eva Fox and by son Jon Fox. John is survived by children, Debbie (David) Fox, Joanie (Jim) Szczupakowski, Joel (Christine) Fox, Jill Fox, daughter-in-law Nancy M. Fox; Honorary sons Rick Brown and John (Christina) Deats: siblings Stewart (Sharon) Fox, Rachel Boggess, Margie Hale, Bill (Paula) Fox and Alice Hein; grandchildren Tim Fox, Erin (Brian) Flynn, Derek (Jackie) Szczupakowski, Matt Szczupakowski, Adam (Tricia) Szczupakowski; great-grandchildren Jude and Rory Szczupakowski; nieces, nephews and devoted dog Tess.

John was born on September 2nd, 1934 in Huntington, West Virginia, and was a proud son of West Virginia throughout his life. John’s career at Owens-Illinois Glass (later Owens-Brockway) spanned 51 years and included many years in machine repair as well as travel around the world as a Special Projects Engineer. After retiring from Owens, John had a subsequent 14 year career at the Home Depot in Gates, New York.
A reservist in the United States Navy, John enlisted in 1952 and continued reserve service in the SeaBees through 1962. In addition to an indefatigable work ethic, John had a passion for all things mechanical and BMW motorcycles in particular.

Services will be private, and conducted by Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 W. Main Street, Caledonia. Interment will be at Creekside Cemetery, Churchville, New York.
