Obituary for Sandra D. Peterson (Rowlinson)

Sandra D. Peterson
(Rowlinson)

Sandra D. Peterson, 58, of Caledonia, passed away at home on the evening of October 14, 2019 with loving family at her side. She now rests in peace with her beloved son Christopher Adam Peterson, daughter Emily Grace Peterson and parents Jack and Doris (Hunt) Rowlinson.
Sandy was born on August 18, 1961 in Waterford, Michigan before her family moved to Caledonia, New York in 1968. She was a 1979 graduate of Caledonia-Mumford Central School and received an Associate’s degree in Secretarial Science from Alfred State College in 1981. Sandy provided her secretarial, clerical and administrative talents to Eastman Kodak, ITT and Exelis for the next 32 years before retiring in 2013. Late in 2013 Sandy found employment as Deputy Village Clerk for the Village of Caledonia, a job she truly loved, until her ailing health forced her to give up that position in the summer of 2019.
Sandy was a devoted wife and mother who cherished family, especially her great nieces and nephews, whom she loved like grandchildren. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Caledonia where she volunteered as Financial Secretary. She enjoyed walking, reading, gathering with family, listening to live music and an occasional casino day trip with her friends or sisters.
She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, William Peterson; sisters Vickie (Timothy) Lauffer of Caledonia, Kathy (Matthew) Fairbrother of Acton, CA; In-Laws Ronald and Joyce Peterson of Geneseo; brothers-in-law Eric Peterson, David (Andrea) Peterson; her dear cousin Chris (Thomas) Lauffer and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces/nephews.
Her Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday November 9, 2019 at 11AM at the First Presbyterian Church, 3080 Main Street, Caledonia. Private interment at Mumford Rural Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Caledonia.
