Obituary for Edward W. Barkley

ROCHESTER/GENESEO
May 4 1930 – April 18 2019.

Edward Passed away peacefully on April 18, just shy of his 89th birthday.
Upon graduating from high school in Geneseo NY, Ed felt the call to serve his country and joined the Army. He was very proud of his service in the Korean War. When he was discharged, he attended the University of Rochester to get his teaching degree. It was here that he met and married his wife Patricia. Together they raised four children. Through the years Edward lived his life by his strong faith and his love of God, his family and his love of teaching.

Edward will always be remembered by his great and unique sense of humor. He will be missed by all.
Edward was predeceased by his wife Patricia M. Barkley and his daughter Deborah J. Horne.
He is survived by his two sons Stephen (Maryann) Barkley and Timothy (Nancy Williams) Barkley and his daughter Lauren (James) Hunter. His son-in-law Douglas (Anne Marie) Horne and daughter-in-law Leslie Barkley. His Grandchildren Lisa (Michael) Reste, Carrie (Michael) Morris, Rachael (Mort) Alling, Shawn (Dimitrina) Barkley, Kayla (Tony) Yeng, Nicholas (Colleen) Hunter, Stephanie Hunter, Shelby Barkley and Ethan Barkley. Ed’s brother Maurice (Marie) Barkley, 12 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and cousins.
