Condolence From: Sharon Kehoe
Condolence: Our precious Manuela has finished her journey in this world and is overjoyed to be celebrating her eternal life with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, Blessed Mother Mary, her beloved husband, Gerry, her parents, brothers and sisters, and her many, many friends who proceeded her. Manuela brought joy and laughter to all who knew her and shared her love of her faith to all who came to know her. We are most grateful that you were in our lives, dear friend, and we will look forward to laughing with you again one day in Heaven.

Condolence From: Elaine Anselm
Condolence: Almost 50 years ago I was a very young mother attending Brockport College. My 1 year old son began his first experience with day care at a child care center in Brockport where Manuela worked. I remember my son being very frightened that first day but he was so fortunate to have Manuela as his teacher. Manuela and he bonded very quickly and her name was one of the first words he could say. He was often holding her hand when I’d come to pick him up and he lit up when he’d first see her upon his arrival at day care. He would also ask if he could go see Manuela on days he didn’t have day care. Manuela always had lots of hugs for my son and all of the children she cared for at day care, and I always knew my son was happy and safe when I’d leave him with her. I remember how much she loved my son’s smile, his bright blue eyes, his blond curls and his bubbly personality. She always called him ‘my beautiful little Aaron”. At her request I took him to visit her and her family on a few weekends. He loved those visits. My son only spent about 18 months with Manuela at day care but they had such a wonderful relationship. I know it had significant and positive impact on the good person he has become. I’ve never forgotten how wonderful Manuela was with him. I remember running into her with my son a number of years later and we all hugged. She was so excited to see us and my son was excited to see her. Those fond memories of Manuela will stay with me forever. She was a most remarkable person. After reading of her many accomplishments, I know she left the world a better place. May we all strive for a life so well lived. My sincere condolences to Manuela’s family.

Condolence: I worked with Manuela in the Brockport Migrant Project for ten years. She was a wonderful person, and such a champion for migrant students and families. I remember going with her on a home visit to one "my" families because we suspected child abuse. I had no idea how to deal with this, but she was calm, collected and firm. Thank goodness she knew what to say and do. She always had a smile and pleasant outlook and was a delightful person. My life is richer because I knew her.
