CALEDONIA - Edward Richard Simms Sr. age 97, passed away on Monday March 19 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York. He was born on March 12, 1921 in Scottsville, New York to Emma Simms. After graduating from Scottsville Central School he played Semi pro basketball with the Rochester Royals and worked as a Mechanic for multiple Ford Dealerships in the Greater Rochester area.
Predeceased by Mother Emma, Brother William and Sister MaryJane and First Wife Connie. He is survived by her children Barbra (Alpharetta, Georgia) and Eddie Jr(Mt. Morris, NY) and wife Geraldine Simms (Orlando, FL) and her children Judy Pepin (Orlando, FL), Sheri (Rochester, NY) and Eric (Caledonia, NY) and Brother Robert Coles. Grandchildren Randy Simms (Rochester, NY) and DeeJay Smith (Miriam) (Orlando, FL) and assorted Grand and Great Grand Fuzzies from Rochester, NY, Orlando FL and Alpharetta, GA and nieces and nephews and other relatives.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 W. Main St., Caledonia, Friday, June 1, 2018, 6-7:45 PM with his Service to follow at 7:45 PM.
